SCRIPT Job: Curriculum Consultant and Nursing Faculty
As the curriculum consultant, Dr. Erkel will contribute to the curriculum design and educational resources for students based on her extensive experience in curriculum development and teaching rural, transcultural and community health courses. She is available to course faculty throughout program planning and implementation as a scholar and mentor. Dr. Erkel remains a rural farm girl at heart, having grown up on a 240 acre farm in northeast Iowa, where her family raised chickens, hogs, beef cattle, and corn for market. She was active in 4-H throughout her youth and won top honors in Bremer County one year for her bread baking demonstration. |

SCRIPT Job: Lowcountry AHEC SCRIPT Team
Lowcountry AHEC has been engaged with SCRIPT since the inception of the program in 1994. The Lowcountry AHEC SCRIPT team includes Diane Kennedy, Kim Stephens, and Emily Warren. Kim and Emily are responsible for the application process and placement of all students into SCRIPT sessions. In addition to this statewide activity, the Lowcountry AHEC team is responsible for coordinating SCRIPT in the lowcountry region. This includes housing, clinical placements, field trips, and community-focused health promotion activities.
Diane Kennedy is the Center Director of Lowcountry AHEC and is the lead SCRIPT team member. She oversees all aspects of the program in the lowcountry region and has been involved with SCRIPT since 1997. Prior to coming to Lowcountry AHEC, she taught in the medical technology and continuing education departments at Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC. Diane holds Adjunct Faculty status at the College of Health Professions at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Emily Warren has been involved with SCRIPT since 2001. She coordinates the community-focused health promotion activities. Also, she teaches the interdisciplinary team building component in the SCRIPT Curriculum.
Kim Stephens is responsible for taking in all the applications and notifying students of their status. Also, she is responsible for course orientation assignments for all sessions. During the Lowcountry SCRIPT session, she is responsible for logistics, speakers, and field trips. |

SCRIPT Job: Upstate AHEC SCRIPT Coordinators.
As Upstate SCRIPT Coordinators, Cynthia Gilster and Nancie Stover are responsible for coordinating the components of SCRIPT specific to the upstate session. This includes housing, clinical placements, field trips and various local speakers. They will also be working to identify opportunities for community-focused health promotion activities and to support the student teams.
Cynthia came to Upstate AHEC after six years with AnMed Health System in Anderson, SC as the Continuing Education Coordinator, then as an Education Consultant, trainer and curriculum developer. At the start of her academic career, she nearly completed a BS degree in nursing, but relinquished that goal to take advantage of an opportunity to live and teach English in Japan.
Upon returning to the States, she earned a BS degree from Eastern Michigan University in Biolgogy with a minor in Chemistry. Cynthia taught in private and public schools for over 19 years before returning to her original interest of health care. In 1992 she received a Masters Degree in Secondary Science Education from Clemson University. She has been with Upstate AHEC as an HPS coordinator for over five years.
Nancie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Clemson University and is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Health from the University of South Carolina. Nancie joined Upstate AHEC as a Health Professions Student Coordinator in August 2007. Prior to her employment with Upstate AHEC, Nancie was a Program/Quality Manager with a nonprofit agency in Greenville, SC. |

SCRIPT Job: Pee Dee AHEC SCRIPT Coordinator
As the Pee Dee SCRIPT Coordinators, Kam Richardson and Traci Coward are responsible for coordinating the components of SCRIPT specific to the Pee Dee session. This includes housing, clinical placements, field trips, and various local speakers. They will also be working to identify opportunities for community-focused health promotion activities and to support the student teams. |

SCRIPT Job: Mid-Carolina SCRIPT Coordinators.
Julie Ghent is one of the Health Professions Student Coordinators with Mid-Carolina AHEC, Inc. She has been with Mid-Carolina since 1997. Julie's first assignment with Mid-Carolina AHEC was to implement their student rotation program. Prior to her employment with AHEC she was a Human Resources director.
Jeff Cauthen, originally from Heath Springs, South Carolina, graduated from the Citadel before spending ten years on active duty with the United States Air Force. Jeff joined the staff of Mid-Carolina AHEC as a Health Professions Student Coordinator in November 2006. He currently resides in Kershaw with his wife Jennifer. |
